Aaron Goldberg, piano & Christian McBride, bass

" A young pianist who is getting more and more of a foothold in New York's jazz scene, and for good reason: he's versatile and impressive, and he swings hard....Selfless in all the right ways...doesn’t set out to demonstrate virtuosity, speed or heat, though all three are at his disposal...remarkable."

—Ben Ratliff, The New York Times

Recently back from a tour with Wynton Marsalis, Aaron Goldberg is a young pianist and composer working at the forefront of jazz music. He debuted in 1999 as a bandleader with Turning Point, and his second CD, Unfolding, was released in 2001. A member of Joshua Redman’s quartet for three years, Aaron can also be heard worldwide with such artists as trumpeters Nicholas Payton, Tom Harrell and Freddie Hubbard, master drummer Al Foster, guitarists Peter Bernstein and Kurt Rosenwinkel, vibraphonist Stefon Harris, and saxophonists Mark Turner and John Ellis. Currently the Musical Director of All Souls at Sundown, Aaron is showcased each month along with a potpourri of the best of the jazz world's up-and-coming new talent.

The bass player of choice for musicians such as Sting, David Sanborn, Natalie Cole, George Benson, and Isaac Hayes, Grammy Award winner (2005) Christian McBride is “one of the most virtuosic jazz musicians to emerge during the 1990’s.” (The New York Times).
