All Souls at Sundown on March 9, 2008:

Vincent Gardner, trombone

“Gardner is an impressive, well-rounded trombonist, fleet and nimble in a boppish uptempo zone and blessed with vocalist-like expressivity when elegance is required…He deserves the spotlight.”

— JazzTimes

Trombonist Vincent Gardner is an alumnus of The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, and debuted as a leader on Elbow Room (Steeplechase Records, 2006), a balanced mix of standards and challenging originals. He has performed, toured, and/or recorded with The Duke Ellington Orchestra, Bobby McFerrin, The Count Basie Orchestra, The Glenn Miller Orchestra, Chaka Kahn, McCoy Tyner, Wynton Marsalis, Matchbox 20, Jimmy Heath, Lauryn Hill and many others.

Featuring the Poetry of Wislawa Szymborska

Wislawa Szymborska, winner of the 1996 Nobel Prize for Literature, “is unquestionably one of the great living European poets. She’s accessible and deeply human and a joy” (The Washington Post).
