Since
attending the Manhattan School of Music in the late 1980s, saxophonist
Jon Gordon has performed with Red Rodney, Roy Eldridge,
Mel Lewis, Doc Cheatham, Clark Terry, Benny Carter, Phil Woods, T.S. Monk,
The Vanguard Orchestra, Bill Charlap, Harry Connick Jr. and the N.Y. Pops
Orchestra, among many others. Jon also appears regularly as a member of
the Jazz Nativity, and he has led his own groups at various European,
Canadian and U.S. jazz festivals and clubs. Among several awards, in November
2006 Gordon won the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Saxophone Competition.
